Tom Moss was a pioneer in the manufacturing business of Salmon Plugs.... Born in Victoria in 1935 and spend a great deal of time fishing the local waters and especially the Saanich Inlet.
During those ealy times Tom was great friends with Jimmy Gilbert and worked as a salmon fishing guide at Gilberts Boat House in Brenwood. (owned by Jimmy's Dad)
The photos I took here are from his 2nd workshop which was located in Sooke. The first was at Brentwood.
Tom told me his "salmon plug empire" all started when he copied a 4 inch Rex Field plug and began creating them in plastic. (Interestinly Rhys Davis also marketed an identical plug which I would say came from the same mold)
